Eligibility
- Arizona resident for tuition purposes, graduate of an Arizona high school with GPA 2.5 or higher, eligible for and receiving a Federal Pell Grant.
- First-time, full-time, on-campus bachelor’s student at ASU, NAU or UArizona, normally entering in the fall immediately after high-school graduation; ask the university about approved enrollment-gap exceptions. Online enrollment does not qualify.
Requirements
- ABOR’s main page calls April 1 of senior year a FAFSA priority date; campus rules can require completed admission, FAFSA and verification by April 1. ASU lists admission and FAFSA/verification by April 1; UArizona lists completed admission and FAFSA by April 1. Confirm your campus requirements before that date.
- ASU’s general aid priority is January 15; it is separate from the Promise program’s April 1 requirements. These recurring dates are not a newly announced statewide 2027–28 cutoff.
- Renew up to eight semesters with annual FAFSA/Pell eligibility, full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress; follow campus renewal dates. Main-campus/eligible in-person campus and fee rules vary by university.
How to Apply
- 1Apply for first-year fall admission and complete FAFSA and requested verification by the campus-required dates; no separate Promise application.
- 2Confirm in-person full-time enrollment, Pell eligibility and the university’s fee/renewal terms.
