The American Legion Department of Michigan Skilled Trades Scholarship supports young Michigan residents pursuing careers in construction and building trades, automotive technology, advanced manufacturing, energy, and related skilled-trades fields. Eligibility
- Be a Michigan resident.
- Be approximately 17 to 21 years old.
- Pursue a career in an eligible skilled-trades field.
- Pursue qualifying post-high-school trades training, an apprenticeship, or an eligible two-year college program.
- Eligible career areas include construction and building trades, automotive, advanced manufacturing, energy, and related skilled-trades fields.
- Applicants with a veteran family connection may receive preference, but veteran descent is not required to apply.

- Complete the American Legion Department of Michigan Skilled Trades Scholarship application.
- Provide information about your skilled-trades education, training, apprenticeship, or employment pathway.
- Complete all written responses required by the current application.
- Provide all supporting documentation requested by the scholarship committee.
- Submit the complete application by April 23, 2027.
