American Indian Services College Scholarship

Eligibility

• Be an enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized American Indian or Alaska Native Tribe or Entity, or be a direct descendant of a base roll member.
• Attend or plan to attend an accredited university, college, or junior college located in the United States.
• Be a matriculated undergraduate student pursuing a first bachelor's degree or eligible undergraduate credential.
• Incoming freshmen are eligible.
• Enroll in at least 6 credits during the applicable term.
• Have no more than 150 semester credits or 210 quarter credits.
• Establish and maintain at least a 2.25 cumulative GPA after the first semester or quarter of college.
• Complete the FAFSA.
• Graduate study is not eligible.

Requirements

• Complete the American Indian Services online scholarship application.
• Upload a recent applicant photo.
• Submit proof of Tribal heritage.
• Submit the required essay of at least one double-spaced page.
• Submit a statement of fees, cost of attendance, or qualifying Financial Needs Analysis.
• Submit a current transcript.
• Complete the FAFSA.
• If selected, submit the required thank-you letter before scholarship funds are released.

4. 4Complete the online scholarship application.
5. 5Prepare the required personal essay.
6. 6Gather Tribal heritage documentation.
7. 7Obtain your current transcript and cost-of-attendance or financial-needs documentation.
8. 8Upload every required document before the applicable deadline.
9. 9If selected, submit the required thank-you letter so the award can be sent to your school.
