The Marshall H. and Nellie Alworth Scholarship provides substantial four-year scholarship support to academically strong high school seniors from a 10-county region of northern Minnesota who demonstrate financial need and plan to pursue approved mathematics, science, engineering, medical, or related STEM fields.

Eligibility
- Be a high school senior graduating from a high school, including homeschool, in Aitkin, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Lake, Itasca, Koochiching, or St. Louis County, Minnesota.
- Be a U.S. citizen or meet the Fund's published residency requirements.
- Have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.5.
- Have an ACT composite score of at least 24; SAT scores are not accepted for this requirement.
- Plan to pursue a four-year degree.
- Commit to an approved mathematics, science, engineering, medical, or related field of study.
- Come from a family with Adjusted Gross Income below $175,000.
- Demonstrate qualities of character, perseverance, and ambition.
- Demonstrate strong academic standing.
Requirements
- Complete the Alworth Scholarship application.
- Provide academic information demonstrating at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
- Provide qualifying ACT scores.
- Provide financial information documenting Adjusted Gross Income below $175,000.
- Provide the required IRS Form 1040 documentation.
- Provide one recommendation from a mathematics or science teacher.
- Identify an approved STEM, medical, mathematics, science, or engineering field of study.
How to Apply
- 1Confirm graduation from an eligible northern Minnesota county.
- 2Confirm at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
- 3Confirm an ACT composite score of at least 24.
- 4Choose an approved Alworth field of study.
- 5Complete the online scholarship application.
- 6Submit the required financial documentation.
- 7Request the required mathematics or science teacher recommendation.
- 8Submit the completed application by January 15.
