The Alworth College Transfer Pathway Scholarship supports community college sophomores from northern Minnesota who are completing associate degrees and transferring to accredited institutions to finish bachelor's degrees in approved mathematics, science, engineering, medical, and related STEM fields.

Eligibility

  • Be completing an associate degree at an eligible community college.
  • Attend Central Lakes College-Brainerd, Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, Lake Superior College, Minnesota North College, or Northwest Technical College-Bemidji.
  • Have graduated from a high school, including homeschool, in Aitkin, Beltrami, Carlton, Cass, Cook, Crow Wing, Lake, Itasca, Koochiching, or St. Louis County, Minnesota.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be a community college sophomore completing an associate degree and planning to transfer to an accredited institution.
  • Plan to complete a bachelor's degree in an approved mathematics, science, engineering, medical, or related field.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 upon completion of the sophomore year.
  • Be enrolled for at least 12 credits per semester.
  • Have at least 50% of completed credits in mathematics, science, engineering, or medical coursework.
  • Come from a family with Adjusted Gross Income below $175,000.
  • Not already be receiving an Alworth Scholarship.

Requirements

  • Complete the Alworth College Transfer Pathway Scholarship application.
  • Provide an official college transcript.
  • Document completion of an eligible associate degree.
  • Provide financial documentation including the required IRS Form 1040.
  • Identify the accredited institution to which you plan to transfer.
  • Identify an approved mathematics, science, engineering, or medical bachelor's degree program.

How to Apply

  1. 1Confirm attendance at an eligible community college.
  2. 2Confirm graduation from a high school in the Alworth 10-county region.
  3. 3Confirm a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25.
  4. 4Confirm that at least half of completed credits are in qualifying STEM or medical coursework.
  5. 5Choose an approved bachelor's degree program and transfer institution.
  6. 6Complete the online Transfer Pathway Scholarship application.
  7. 7Submit the required transcript and financial documentation.
  8. 8Submit the complete application by March 15.
