The Alabama Power Foundation Community Scholars Program awards one scholarship in each eligible county within Alabama Power's service territory. The program supports Alabama high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, clear educational goals, and financial need.

This scholarship offers more than one application cycle. Review each window carefully before applying.
Eligibility
- Be a high school senior graduating from a high school or homeschool program in an eligible Alabama county served by Alabama Power.
- Students attending public, private, charter, and homeschool programs may apply.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Plan to enroll full time during the upcoming academic year at an accredited two-year college, four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, work experience, or meaningful volunteer service.
- Not be the child of an Alabama Power employee.
- Students from Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, and Morgan counties are not eligible because those counties are outside Alabama Power's service territory.
Requirements
- Complete the online scholarship application administered by Scholarship America.
- Provide academic and school information.
- Submit a goals statement describing educational and career objectives.
- Provide information about leadership, extracurricular activities, employment, and volunteer service.
- Provide financial and household information demonstrating financial need.
- Submit any transcript or supporting documentation requested through the application portal.

- 3Complete the academic, financial, leadership, employment, and community-involvement sections.
