The Advancing Futures Fund provides one-time financial assistance to Missouri students pursuing short-term credentials in high-demand career fields. The grant is designed to help students overcome specific out-of-pocket financial barriers that could prevent them from completing a certificate, certification, apprenticeship, licensure training, or other eligible short-term credential.

Eligibility

  • Be a Missouri resident.
  • Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Have not completed an associate or bachelor's degree.
  • Have a current Student Aid Index of 12,000 or less as determined by the FAFSA or Federal Student Aid Estimator.
  • Attend an eligible Missouri career center, community college, or technical college.
  • Enroll part-time or full-time in an eligible short-term credential program.
  • Pursue a certificate, certification, apprenticeship, licensure-related training, or other eligible credential in a high-demand field identified by the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development.
  • Have documented program-related expenses or financial barriers.

Requirements

  • Complete the Advancing Futures Fund application through My Scholarship Central.
  • Provide documentation of program-related expenses.
  • Submit a FAFSA Submission Summary or Federal Student Aid Estimator results.

How to Apply

  1. 1Gather a bill, statement, invoice, or other documentation showing program-related expenses.
  2. 2Obtain the FAFSA Submission Summary or Federal Student Aid Estimator results.
  3. 3Create or log in to a My Scholarship Central account.
  4. 4Navigate to Grant opportunities and select the Advancing Futures Fund.
