The 21st Century Scholars program is Indiana's early college promise program for income-eligible students. Scholars who meet the program's academic, activity, financial aid, and enrollment requirements may receive up to four years of tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university.

Eligibility

  • Be an Indiana resident.
  • Be automatically enrolled or apply during seventh or eighth grade.
  • Meet the program's household income or other qualifying eligibility requirements.
  • Graduate from an eligible Indiana high school with a Core 40 diploma or another approved diploma.
  • Earn a cumulative high school GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Complete all required Scholar Success Program activities.
  • File the FAFSA and meet state financial aid eligibility requirements.
  • Enroll as a full-time student at an eligible Indiana college or university within the required timeframe.

Requirements

  • Create and maintain a ScholarTrack account.
  • Sign and follow the Scholar Pledge.
  • Complete all required Scholar Success Program activities.
  • Maintain the required cumulative GPA.
  • Graduate with an eligible Indiana high school diploma.
  • Submit the FAFSA by Indiana's required deadline.
  • Meet college credit-completion and satisfactory academic progress requirements to renew the award.

How to Apply

  1. 1Confirm whether the student was automatically enrolled in the program.
  2. 2If necessary, complete enrollment before June 30 of the student's eighth-grade year.
  3. 3Create a ScholarTrack account and review the Scholar Pledge.
  4. 4Complete and document all required Scholar Success Program activities during high school.
  5. 5Submit the FAFSA during the student's senior year.
  6. 6Enroll full-time at an eligible Indiana institution and confirm the scholarship through the college's financial aid office.
